Steamboat Colorado Garage Floor Epoxy Repair
The garage floor pictured here is in a residential home in the Steamboat Mountain Colorado area. The owners had their painter apply a thin epoxy coating like the kind you find in home improvement and hardware stores. It probably looked great for about a day and likely went downhill from there.
We run into epoxy repair projects like this frequently. Epoxy systems in Colorado just can’t handle moisture pressure and de-icing salts. If your coating is peeling off the floor you know what we mean.
The process to repair a failing surface is outlined in more detail in the floor repair section of our site. We start out by grinding off the coating and the surface of the concrete. This removes any bond breakers in the surface and opens up the pores. We fix all the cracks and apply our polyurea coatings. Our polyurea is manufactured by Espartic. This coating absorbs into the concrete surface becoming part of the floor. The subsequent coats build up the surface protecting from de-icing salts, hot tires and most chemicals.
This is a permanent solution that waterproofs the floor as well. We can also install and coat cove moldings along your interior walls. This makes the surface a seamless basin that is easy to clean.
