How To Maintain Your Colorado Garage Floor
Maintaining your Colorado garage floor after the polyurea coating has been applied is a simple process and quick. As you can see in the top left photo are all the tools you need to keep the floor looking like new.
Here’s the list.
- Wet Vac – If you don’t have drains or have a large floor, a wet vac will remove water. Nice item to have.
- Stiff Bristle Broom – Stiff bristles will agitate the dirt for cleaning with a squeegee
- Neoprine Squeegee – Available at most home improvement stores
- 5 Gallon Bucket – Other sizes will work, but we like the 5 gallon.
- Joy – Lemon Joy is a degreaser and works grea for removing grease and tire marks.
- Ammonia – A 1 gallon container will last since you don’t need much.
- Small Cup – You will need a cup to pour Joy and water on grease marks.
- Scrub Brush – small, hand held stiff bristle scrub brush.
The Garage Floor Cleaning System
The system for maintaining your coating is simple and fast. Periodic maintenance removes dirt, road salts and bacteria. This system will keep your floor looking excellent indefinitely.
- Removing Grease – Use warm water and small amount of Joy on grease marks and scrub.
- Warm Water and Ammonia – Fill your bucket with warm water and small amount of ammonia.
- Pour water on Surface – Work in sections by pouring water, then agitate with broom.
- Squeegee – Use your neoprine squeegee to wisk away water and dirt. Effective and fast drying.
- Wet Vac – Any excess water can be removed with a vacuum. Floor dries immediately.
That’s the extent of the system. You will never need or use a mop that does nothing more than push dirty water around the floor. By cleaning with this system, you will minimize micro scratches by removing abrasion causing dirt.
